Take a trip to Ancient Rome during a thrilling game of the slot machine Rome: The Golden Age.
The bet sizes available in Rome: The Golden Age range from 10p to £50.
Betting in this game is fixed at 20 paylines.
Golden Age and Rome Symbols
Whenever a Golden Age symbol lands, its position will be marked with a Frame.
Golden Age symbols can randomly transform into a Rome symbol, which will then turn the Frame into an Active Frame.
This will cause the position with the Active Frame to turn into a Wild symbol at the end of the next spin.
Any adjacent positions with a Frame will also become Wild symbols, as will the positions next to them up to five times.
Frames and Active Frames will remain on the reels until they're transformed into a Wild or Free Spins is triggered.
Wilds override all symbols except for Scatter, Golden Age and Rome symbols.
You'll be paid the longest possible winning combination on a bet line only.
Free Spins Multiplier
Every time a Golden Age symbol lands during the main game, points are added to the progress bar of the Free Spins Multiplier collect meter.
The position it appears on will affect the number of points added:
- If the Golden Age symbol lands on a position without a Frame or Active Frame, one point will be added
- If the Golden Age symbol lands on a position with a Frame or Active Frame, a random number of points between one and four will be added
The Free Spins Multiplier will upgrade progressively each time the meter reaches 200 points.
Upgrades occur in the following order: x1, x2, x3, x5, x7, x10, x12, x15, x20, x30, x40, x50, x75, x100, x200, x300, x500, x750, x1000.
The Free Spins Multiplier will reset to zero after each upgrade.
If the progress bar exceeds 200 points, the Free Spins Multiplier will upgrade and the remaining points will be added once it has reset.
The multiplier can be upgraded during the main game, but will only be applied at the end of Free Spins.
The Free Spins multiplier will reset to x1 at the end of the feature - the progress bar will hold points obtained during the round that activated Free Spins.
If the Free Spins Multiplier reaches x1000 during the main game, the progress bar will be full and no more points can be added until Free Spins is activated.
Should this happen, at the end of Free Spins, the Free Spins Multiplier will reset to x1 and the progress bar to zero.
Land three Scatter symbols on reels two, three or four during the base game to trigger this feature and win at least three free spins.
Positions with Frames and Active Frames that didn't turn into Wild symbols during the triggering round will lock and stick to the reels before the first free spin.
You'll be awarded a random prize of between 0.5x and 50x your bet at the end of Free Spins.
Positions that did turn into a Wild symbol in the triggering game won't be locked.
Every reel position spins individually during Free Spins; locked positions do not spin.
It's only possible for Rome symbols to land during Free Spins.
Should one appear on an unlocked position, you will win between 0.5x and 50x your bet.
Each time a Rome symbols lands on an unlocked position, your remaining free spins will reset to three and the position will become locked.
Free Spins ends when all spins have been played or all positions become locked.
The game will then return to the triggering round, removing all Frames and Rome symbols from the reels.
At the end, any wins secured during Free Spins will be multiplied by the Free Spins Multiplier collected in the main game.
If all positions are locked, an extra x2 multiplier will be awarded on all random prizes on Rome symbols, including the Free Spins Multiplier and extra x2 Multiplier. For example: if the value of the Free Spins Multiplier is x10, the value of the final Multiplier will be x20.
The total amount won during Free Spins is added to existing payline wins at the end.
Bets are the same value as the round that activated Free Spins.
