If you've played bingo in the UK or Europe before, then chances are you played 90 ball bingo. With millions of fans playing on a regular basis, 90 ball bingo is the most popular type of bingo game in the UK and Europe.
Across the pond though, our friends in the US have a preference for a different type of bingo game. Introducing: 75 ball bingo!
Those of you who have played 90 ball bingo before, either in a bricks and mortar bingo hall or online, should find the rules of 75 ball bingo nice and easy to understand. If you're completely new to playing bingo, then we recommend checking out our complete guide to bingo, which covers the basics of bingo and the different rules involved.
75 ball bingo (or 'bingo live 75' as some in the US like to call it) follows the standard bingo rules, with a couple of exciting differences. Let's start with the most obvious difference between 75 ball and 90 ball bingo. Can you guess? It's the number of balls! There are 75 balls used in this version of bingo, with 90 balls used in 90 ball bingo.
In 75 ball bingo, tickets are formed of a 5x5 grid with an empty square in the middle spot (this might feature a star or 'EMPTY SPACE').
The word 'BINGO' might also be shown at the top of the card, with one letter sitting above each column. All the squares (except the central one) will be filled with a random number before the game kicks off. Each column can feature the following numbers:
|1st||B||Five numbers between 1 and 15|
|2nd||I||Five numbers between 16 and 30|
|3rd||N||Four numbers between 31 and 45|
|4th||G||Five numbers between 46 and 60|
|5th||O||Five numbers between 61 and 75|
Unlike regular bingo, which offers prizes for completing a single line, two lines or a full house before your fellow players, 75 ball bingo also has special patterns that you need to match to bag a prize.
75 ball bingo patterns are announced at the start of each game so players can scope out the aim of that game before the action begins. These patterns are completely random and can spell a letter, form a shape or even an animal.
Fun fact: As the game has grown in popularity over the years, new patterns have been introduced, with over 300 different patterns now being played worldwide!
Playing 75 ball bingo online is a fabulous way to enjoy all the fun of bingo without needing to head out to a physical bingo hall. Cosy night in, anyone?
To join in the action, simply pick your favourite online 75 bingo room and choose how many cards you want to play with. Once you've bought your bingo cards, sit back and watch as the numbers are called!
To win at 75 ball bingo, you need to be the first player to create the pattern announced at the start of the game on your card. You can also bag a prize for being the fastest player to create a line, two lines or a full house if the game features those paylines.
Don't worry if you hear your doorbell go while you're in the middle of a game - our automatic dabbing feature will mark off your numbers for you, so you won't miss out on any wins. We'll announce the results on-screen at the end of the game. Don't forget to say congrats if someone else wins!
Unlike 90 ball bingo games, where the tickets are bought in packs of six to make a single 'bingo card', 75 ball bingo cards are formed of just one ticket.
